An Inventory Collector is running. Wait until it is completed before proceeding with update.

I am trying to script the install of multiple Dell update packages and receive the error below, presumably from the preceding package.

Exit code = 1 (An Inventory Collector is running. Wait until it is completed before proceeding with update.)

I do not want to put an arbitrary wait time between packages. What is the Inventory Collector and how do I detect it is running?
