Bootable ISO image file for Win Server 2008 R2

I have several R710 servers with iDRAC6 enterprise card, and my goal is to install win 2008R2 OS remotely through the virtual media GUI of iDRAC6.

The problem I am having is that when I install OS from my local DVD drive, it is painfully slow (due to latency of DVD drive) and it will take several days for the server to finish reading the 3G OS disk.

So now I am trying to create a bootable ISO image from my OS DVD and boot the server from ISO file instead (this will be many many times faster). Unforuntately, none of the DVD copy tools I've tried (ImgBurn, Rixio) can create a bootable ISO file recognized by R710.

Hopefully you have some advice on the right way to create a bootable ISO image from the OS disk.

Thanks.

X.

You can try ISO Recorder.  I have never had any problems creating usable ISO's from CD/DVD's using this.  It doesn't install a program that you run from All Programs, but adds functionality to your right-click menu ... just right-click the DVD drive and choose Create Image from CD/DVD.

Or, you can download the ISO to ensure you have a pure ISO file.
