There really isn't much to it. What was the error message you got the first time? Does your server have a static IP address? How is it situated in your network - how is you network organized (routers, etc.)?
The "There really isn't much to it" part is what I need help with. The automatic process (adding the role of DNS) just finished with a message that said it failed and I would have to install DNS manually. Perhaps the failure had something to do with me not being connected to the LAN at the time. I reconnected to the LAN and ran the add role DNS again, and it added, but with NO information or configurable items under DNS.
I am trying to create a new domain controller for a new domain, while the server is connected to our LAN, which is controlled by another DC of another domain. Perhaps this is contributing to the problems. I don't know how else to work on it and have access to network resources.
Description: The DNS server encountered error 32 attempting to load zone gnbristol.org from Active Directory. The DNS server will attempt to load this zone again on the next timeout cycle. This can be caused by high Active Directory load and may be a transient condition. Event Xml:
4521 0 3 0 0 0x80000000000000 13 DNS Server GNBristolServer.gnbristol.org 32 gnbristol.org
