The DS1410D service failed to start due to the following error: The system cannot find the file specified.
I'm getting it on a Dell PE4400. The research I've done suggests it has something to do with a parallel port dongle, but I've never had one on this machine (or any machine, for that matter). If anyone has an answer, I'd appreciate hearing from you.
i just installed windows 2000 on a poweredge 2600 series and after running all the updates and installing all my software (which does not require the use of a par. port wedgy or dong) i got the same error. it appears to be a bug in some software install. all i did was delete all the entries in the registry (of course, backed up the reg. just in case) and the error went away.
I had this on a NT Workstation machine, I backed up my regristry and then removed all instances of DS1410D service from the registry; it's not coming back in the event viewer any more. Don't know what it was after doing all kinds of research, the only thing I could find is a parallel port and a dongle. Makes no sense to me because I have not used the parallel port on this machine or a dongle. Part
