Dell Open Manage v4.4 W2003 SP1

I'm having some problems getting Dell OpenManage v4.4 running on a Poweredge 4400 server running W2003 SP1.
I originally had OM v4.4 working OK on the W2003 server with SP1 installed. Problems started after installing Computer Asociates Brightstor Arcserve r11.1 software, its SP1 service pack and the Windows 2003 Sp1 compatiability product update. This broke OM, the 'Systems Management Data Manager' service terminates unexpectedly and will not start and I get a Dr Watson error in the application log, 'The application C:\program files\dell\sysmgt\dataeng\bin\dcstor32.exe generated an application error. The exception generated was 80000007 at address 00000000 (ntdll!KiFastSystemCallRet). When you bring up the OM web page it hangs after logging in trying to load the servlet/omsastart?mode=omsa.
I tried removing the software and re-installing, same problem. Also trying removing, running the omclean tool and re-installing same problem. I've also tried removing Brighstor and OM, re-applying the Windows 2003 SP1 and then re-installing OM, same problem.
 
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this one ?
