Dell PowerEdge 2500 OS question

I'm new to servers, so sorry if this sounds stupid. Can I run win xp on a Dell PowerEdge 2500 server? will it work as a PC or will there be a bunch of errors, or not even install win xp at all? I can get my hands on a working one cheap with no OS. All win server OS are REALLY expensive. Is this a futile endeavor that I should steer clear of? Thanks, Mike

The PowerEdge server (i.e. 2500) were maily for server based operating systems such as W2K3, W2K..etc.  The problem with XP is that it may not have any device drivers for the onboard hardware.  You can try XP, but there is no tech support for XP on the 2500.
