Event ID 35 - Related to clustering
Hello,
Thanks in advance for everyones help. I am getting the following error in the event viewer and can't seem to figure out what is going on. It looks like it is looking for a cluster, but we aren't clustering any computers together. Here is the error message:
NLB Cluster 0.0.0.0 : Cluster mode cannot be enabled due to parameter errors. All traffic will be passed through to TCP/IP. Restart cluster operations after fixing the problem by running 'wlbs reload' followed by 'wlbs start'.
When I attempt to do what this says I get this message:
WLBS Cluster Control Utility V2.4 (c) 1997-2003 Microsoft Corporation.
Cluster 0.0.0.0
Error querying parameters from the registry.
Please consult event log on the target host.
C:\
But like I said we aren't clustering any pc's together. So is this a matter of turning this option off. It is a PE 4400 with a Perc 3/Di Controller 0 (AFA0).
Thanks again for all the help and let me know if you need more information.

This sounds like a NLB (Network Load Balancing) related error. If you're using NLB, read this Windows 2000 articles which are very similar to Windows 2003:
Configuring Network Load Balancing
HOW TO: Configure an IP Address for NLB with One Network Adapter
HOW TO: Configure Network Load Balancing Parameters in Windows 2000
Else simply remove NLB in the NIC properties.

Ok, I will give that a try. Actually now that you mention that it sounds like it is related to a network load balance sounds familiar to when looking on the server.
Thanks for the help and have a great weekend!

Now I am receiving this error in the event log:
Source: Service Control Manager
Event ID 7000
The Network Load Balancing service failed to start due to the following error:
The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.
I removed the NLB from the NIC properties and restarted the server and it comes up with failed driver or service. Any ideas? Thanks again for your help.
