How to make raid 1 on bios?
Hi..i am having a problem, i have poweredge 2950 dell server, and i want to installed windows 2008 standard editon x64. but before i am installed the operating system. i want to make a raid 1 for my hardrive.
usually i am using the installation and server management CD to configure raid 1 on my dell server, but because my installation cd version is 5.1 there no option to configure with windows 2008 standard x64 editon.
did someone can help me?

If you want to make the raid 1 in the bios, you'd first need to let us know if you have a SAS5iR, SAS6iR, PERC5i or PERC6i (these are the raid controllers that can do raid 1 (and the PERCs can do more than that too) on this system).

I believe your current CD should be able to make the raid 1, and then when you get to the OS install section see if you can back out of that so it makes the raid 1, but then does nothing else. Then you'd boot to the Windows 2008 DVD and install it.
Is this means that with my current CD, i can make raid 1? How can i do that? can u explain me more easier?

it seems that i have PERC5i. how can i do raid 1 with PERC5i??
