Are you talking about upgrades to the hardware to be able to run it?  Other than being a little light on memory, this system will run R2/Exchange 2010 just fine.  I might suggest an upgrade to memory and firmware updates.

Hi,

Yes I was referrring to the upgrade in hardware if required to run Windows Standard Server 2008 & Exchange Standard server 2010.

Presently I have 2GB of ram on the server, would you recommend that to upgrade? if so to what..

Any other hardware criteria to be taken care off?

Cheers,

Personally, with the cost of memory nowadays, I'd add at least 2x2GB, or maybe just go 2x4GB. Be sure to get memory certified to be compatible (e.g. Crucial or Dell spare parts).

Agreed.  With a single processor configuration, you will need a minimum of 4GB to run any of the Exchange roles, some will require 8GB, and it is recommended 10GB or more if you are running multiple roles.
