MDT 2012 | 12G | M620

I am attempting to build an M620 using MDT 2012.  I have downloaded the BCM57810 NIC x64 drivers as well as the H310 mini storage controller and imported it into my workbench.

Can anyone tell me how to get past this problem?

I eventually opened a ticket with Microsoft to get this fixed.  I had to import and re-generate the boot files completely with the NIC drivers.  I also had to add the following steps to my Task Sequence:

In the Preinstall phase:

Format and Partition Disk - Legacy

---Set Disk Type to Standard (MBR)

---Options Tab - Task sequence variable IsUEFI equals False

Format and Partition Disk - UEFI

---Set Disk Type to GPT

---Options Tab - Task Sequence variable IsUEFI equals True

I was able to build after doing all of this.

See if the BCM57810 have the latest firmware.  My last set came with 7.2.14.  I can only find up to 7.0.47 to download.  The last stand alone cards I got from Dell to retrofit machines came with 7.0.0 and needed to be revised.  I just can't seem to get Dell to give me version 7.2.14.

Hi

Where did you get the drivers for the Broadcom BCM57810? We are having issues trying to get the NIC drivers working in MDT2010 or 2012. Have tried the ones on the Dell site and Broadcom site.

Thanks

Lancia,

I have the driver from Broadcom's website.  Then, I used a VBScript wrapper (from Johan Arwidmark) to install the Broadcom Mgmt Apps to upgrade this driver.

\setup.exe /s /v "/qn ADDSOURCE=Driversi32, BACSi32, BASPi32

Thanks gebray1s

I have just found that I didn't have system drivers injected into the LiteTouch boot image. Done that and I can now start and install although it fails installing the custom image, although a clean install works fine. Think I'll re-setup my task sequences and see if that works.

The 620 downloads have now been updated with firmware 7.2.14

Note:  If you are going to use BACS 4.x, use the December drivers from Dell, version 17.x.x..  If you use the later ones from the Broadcom site, the they will not update with future Dell releases.  Also, the Dell ones will not update with the Broadcom ones.  You need to stay with either of the two forked paths, you cannot co-mingle.

Thanks - got the latest drivers for firmware 7.2.14. Almost got MDT working fine now, few issues to iron out (never had any problems with 1955/M600/M610) but at least the NIC issue is sorted. We won;t be using BACS on these blades, purely Windows 7 workhorses :)
