Noob Question for PowerEdge 750 and Linux

Noob Question for PowerEdge 750 and Linux.?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I just acquired a PowerEdge 750 (used)

This is for fun and learning. The main objective here would be to install Linux Fedora Core, Centos or Mandrake. I can’t really pitch in more cash for a Red Hat operating system like I said it for the learning I have been playing around with this installation and ready but I am stuck. Using the Dell Server Assistance it only gives me 4 options as operating systems.

Microsoft 2000

Microsoft 2003

Linux Red Hat 3.0

Novell (have no what that is)

My Linux experience is about as new as you can get (2 month and learning)

I need help (step by Step on how to)

I just need to get Linux up and running and after that I am not that bad to setup the specification needed.

I read tones of forum many questions how ever no answers.

If any of you installed a working free Linux on a poweredge 750 please give me some details.

And if you have a good step by step how to link it would be greatly appreciated. I am starting to be sleep deprived trying to figure this out.

Thank you

For Fedora, just install from the Fedora CD/DVD. It's bootable.

For assistence how to install Fedora, Check fedora.redhat.com.

So Novell is a company like Red Hat. They are in my mind better than Red Hat. Novell makes a free linux distribution called Suse (Current stable version is 10.0). Suse is the most advanced linux distributions out there, so I don't know why dell doesn't use them. www.suse.com will take you to the webpage and then you will want the open suse. Download the CD/DVD and burn it. The wizard to install suse is also very friendly. However, if you want the best newbie linux distribution it's probably mandrake linux.
One of the best sites for any linux help is www.linuxquestions.org people on the forum are helpful knowledgable and normally get back to you in about 24hr's.

Hope it helps!

Thanks Guys,

I will be trying these suggestions very shortly. I just ordered a few add-on components from Dell that I should be getting next week.

Also just a question?

I have been Calling Dell to order product that I was not sure of the part number and the site is not that user friendly. However the customer service to purchase additional hardware is definitely worst.  Once they new that I purchase a use Server I got the run around and decided to hunt the site in stead. Is this normal or I just got a bad day for some reps.
