OMSA on PE 2950 - Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Question

Hello! i'm baffled with the following: just installed a Windows Server 2008 R2 on a PE 2950; no problems whatsoever. Now if i install OMSA 7.00 when i open the icon on the desktop it just show 'Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage'. What i've done to fix this: - reinstalled the OMSA 7; - removed the OMSA 7 and installed OMSA 6.5; - added the port exceptions on the firewall (firewall was disabled since then). - installed another browser, firefox 11; still the same behaviour. - either on IE8 or IE9 same problem. done all the above, and still can't access the OMSA (this is the only windows server  2008 r2 and the only one with this behaviour), but if i do https://dpm01:1311/servlet/OMSALogin?msgStatus=null i can access (only in firefox) after a warning message saying that brower isn't supported! We have a ISA 2006 serving as proxy so i thougth it was the culprit, but either on IE8 or 9 it is disabled; on firefox it is as well but i can acess from that link above.   any sugestions?

Emanuel,

Did you approve the certificate when you tried to connect via IE? It should have came up with a certificate error (is there a red box at the end of the address bar?) If so approve the certificate and then see if it connects.

Also, did you remove OMSA 7.0 completely, before starting to install 6.5?

Hi Chris,

it doesn't even show the certificate message, just shows the error; i know that i must aprove the certificate since i also have more DELL servers with OMSA installed, just this particular one has this problem.

also i've removed the OMSA 7.0 in control panel, rebooted the server and then installed the 6.5 - still no go.

btw: just reinstalled and uninstalled according to the manual (msiexec /i SysMgmt.msi REINSTALL=ALL REINSTALLMODE=vomus) and installed again the OMSA 7.0, still no go :(
