PE2950 III - Server 2003 not reporting correct amount of RAM
Hi,
I have a Dell 2950 III server with 4 GB RAM installed, but Windows 2003 only shows 3.99 GB RAM under SYSTEM Properties --> General. Why is this happeneing and how can I make it show 4 GB RAM? I have a vendor that will not install their software without the server reporting 4 GB.

The onboard video possibly takes a few MBs from the regular memory (maybe 16 or 32MB), which is so little that most people don't care. Also; I haven't seen too many systems bought with just 4GB, but it's even more rare that a software package refuses to install over being 0.01GB short in memory.
I'd recommend to just upgrade to 6 or 8GB to prevent the limitation, and becuase the minimum requirements for most software is often not what you want to be running/using; adding a bit more often significantly benefits performance.
