PowerEdge 2600 and x64

I do not know how to figure out if my PE2600 will be able to run the new x64.

I suspect it won't, so I need to know if there is anyway to upgrade it or will I need to dump it soon.

Thanks
Terry

The Poweredge 2600 doesn't support x64-capable processors, so it's not an option. You'll need to buy a new (newer) server like the PE2800 or 2900 (assuming you want a similar server but then with x64 support).

Thanks, not what I hoped to hear but now I know where we stand.

We run Windows Small Business Server 2003 R2, and from what I can find the next version (2007) will/might be x64 only which could be a real problem for those that have just bought servers.

I am not sure how to tell when I look at new server how to tell if they support x64, I assume if 64 bit Windows Server is an option then they are but thats the only hint I see.
