I moved your post to its own thread, as it had absolutely nothing to do with the thread in which you posted.

You need drivers for the storage device before Windows can see the drives.

Are you trying to repair 2003 or do a fresh/clean install?
Does your 2003 CD have Service Pack 2 on it?
Which RAID controller does your server have?

When you turn on the system, you may see it listed there as it loads:

CTRL-C could be SAS 6/iR  or PERC S100/S300/H200

CTRL-R could be PERC 6/i or H700

You can also check your order details (System Configuration tab):

"SAS 6/iR  or PERC S100/S300/H200"

These are all different RAID controllers.  Which one do you have?

SAS 6/iR
PERC S100
PERC S300
PERC H200

You may be able to see during POST with a CTRL-R or CTRL-C prompt.

Just remember next time you post to post as much information as possible.  I could have given you an answer immediately yesterday had you provided the necessary details in your original post :)  Take care!

Since you obviously didn't read this thread, post the answers to the following questions:

Does your 2003 CD have Service Pack 2 on it?

Which RAID controller does your server have?

I don't understand the problem, as described.  Here are some points that add to my confusion:

- The SAS 6/iR cannot do RAID with a single hard drive.

- How did you "[install] the OS through floppy".

- Where are you seeing the "hard drive partition"?  When "connecting floppy" for what?

Hi thanks for your reply.....

Yes i have 2003 with SP2.....

The server is Dell Power edge R410 model with one hard disk. The one hard drive configured with raid configuration. i have installed OS  thru floppy with SAS6IR controller, after that it is not booting in OS and directly booting CD drive only. i have changed booting option also in BIOS. when i am connecting floppy, then only Hard drive partition is showing. pls help me.....

We have Dell Power Edge R410 model server, when we tried to install

OS (win2003 std) initially in the server,  windows could not able to detect the hard disk so as per the followed steps early by our team we tried to install OS with floppy driver controller. With that it's detecting hard disk and we able to install the win2003 OS and installation went successfully but after rebooting windows is not starting and not detecting any hard drive. we see issue with raid configuration side..at present in our server only one hard drive (500 GB) connected
