PowerEdge T410 Lastest Broadcom Netxtreme II NIC Drivers

Hi, let me introduce myself to the community.

My name is Rogelio Martinez, Im from Mexico I have 2 old PE 1430 servers with win2003. All fine with them.

I have acquired 1 Poweredge t410, windows server 2008 r2 64bit, 32 GB ram, 6 SAS 15k hdds, 2 xeons X5650, 1 broadcom netxtremeII quad port card, and 2 integrated broadcom netxtremeII  ports, im using just one integrated port

My workstations all of them have XP. HP gigabit Switch

I have had like many of you low performance on shared files from the t410.

I have disabled all of the advanced/offload,chimney options in broadcom nic. and in the OS via netsh. Im comparing my result against the win2003 servers.

My main goal is that the NEW server dont be slower than the old servers. im almost there.

Well, the only thing i havent done is update the nic drivers.

Dell lasttest driver is dated 6/14/2011 (the one i have installed right now), and on the broadcom website the lastest driver is just 4 months ago.

The questions is.... should i try the broadcom website drivers?

Thank you.

The latest Dell driver for Broadcom is version 17.2, which has an upload date of 6/28/2012:

ftp.dell.com/.../English

ftp.dell.com/Browse_for_Drivers

-> Servers, Storage & Networking

-> PowerEdge

-> T410

-> Network

-> Driver

-> Windows 2008 R2

-> English

The Bcom files are the Broadcom drivers. You can see the version in the filename. I don't know what the driver date is on those though.

Hi there, the driver you are pointing me to (06/28/2012 10:35a.m.     34,056,775 Bcom_LAN_17.2.0_W2K8_64_A00.exe

), is in the path

-> Servers, Storage & Networking

-> PowerEdge

-> T410

-> Network

-> Driver

-> Windows 2008 x64 (<---- not the R2 one you said)

-> English

Well i didnot mention where im checking the drivers for my system. i get them from the support page for my model where it ask me for my service tag and shows me drivers intended just for my system.

There,  the lastest driver for broadcom are NIC_DRVR_WIN_R306483.EXE, well it is outdated now i see.

i will try this Dell Oficial Driver youre pointing me to.

Any special procedure to install the driver? i have the 2 integrated ports and the quad port card.

Whats  the difference between the Dell site and the Broadcom site?

Thank you

Hi i just checked, the 2 integrated ports are BCM5716C and the quadport is BCM5709C. So the update package updates both of them? thank you.
