Poweredge 2850 Processor and Memory Upgrade

Hello

 

I am trying to upgrade the processor on my PE2850 from 2.8GHz to anything higher than that and i will like to know the recommended processors i can use. The same applies to memory too. My system comes with only 1gig and i am looking for a minimum of 6 to 8 gigs. any recommendations?

I think the fastest processors Dell offered on the 2850 were the 3.8GHz Xeons.

For memory, check crucial.com, kingston.com or dell.com and use their memory configurator to be guided to memory guaranteed to be compatible with the 2850.
