Problem with Server Assistant and Dell 15FP KMM

Question

Since the Server Assistant was changed to using a Linux backend, I have been having problems using it in conjunction with our Dell 15FP KMM. The program loads fine, but it appears to be trying to run in a non-standard resolution and the monitor complains about setting your resolution to 1024x768 with a big blue opaque window that blocks the middle of the screen and won't go away. I'm currently using version 4.4 that came with our latest PE2850. Is this a known problem? Is there any way to fix this, aside from attaching a different monitor to the system when using this application?

I have the same problem with a new PE1850. I have a 15FP KMM connected through a DS2161 KVM switch. I also connected an 1702FP and 1900FP to the server's front video port and received "Video mode is not supported" All Dell equipment, but they do not play nicely together :)

Can you change resolution while using Server Assistant? Or start the Server Assistant in a different video mode via command line?

When I bypassed the KVM switch and connected the 15FP directly to the ner server, I had not problem. I assume the linux routine is auto-sensing a video mode supported by the KVM switch, but not supported by the 15FP. However, disconnecting the KVM switch for each new server is not a desired solution.

On second new server, I just disconnected the rear video port from the KVM switch and connected a Dell 1702FP monitor. I started the server and let the linux Server Setup routine initialize on the monitor, then I switched the video back to the KVM switch. After that I had no problems :)

Im having the same problems with dell servers using the SA4.4 software using an Avocent KVM over Cat5 switch.  Only have problems when running the SA software though.  Maybe the next version wont have the problem.   Justin.
