Reinstalled OS (server 2012 r2) only opens to command prompt
Hi,
I just reinstalled my OS (Server 2012 R2) and it goes thru startup but stops at the command prompt screen. (C:/Administrator/) What do I need to do to get it to open to the Windows screen? I am very naïve at this so forgive my questions if they are fundamental :) Do I need to install Windows 7 or something.
When I used the Lifecycle Controller to install the server OS I choose Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard (server core installation) not Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard (server with GUI), should I have chosen the latter?

Yes. You installed Server Core - just "core" services, which does not include a GUI. Reinstall with the GUI option ...
