Does it really matter if you do not load the os from a dell assistance cd?

 

Does it matter if whatever that assistance cd loads prior to os, is actually loaded after os?

 

Is there a product matrix somewhere that shows all available add-ons to the 4400 system?

 

Is there a product matrix that shows these add-on part's dependent programs, drivers, bios, firmware etc...?

 

Is there anything that i did not cover here that is relevant to this issue?

FAST is replaced by Dell open manage.  I dont know that the 4400 is supported anymore by a current subscription to Open Manage to get the CD'S.  Once a system is END OF LIFE      END OF SUPPORT you cannot get disks.  They wont sell them to you and they will not allow others to post ISO images of the disks.
