T300 with Server 2008
We recently bought a T300 with 16 gigs of RAM and Server 2008 x64. The server software came separately from the hardware, so I was using the DVD Resource and Management CD to load the OS. It does the RAID partitioning and driver installation fine, it then reboots and then promots for OS DVD which I insert and the whole OS installation seems to go without a hitch until the last reboot. Upon reboot the server just sits at the Windows splash screen forever. There is no disk activity of any kind whatsoever. Now my volume licensing media did not come with SP2 or SP1 slipstream, it comes as RTM.
I guess what I am asking is would using the RTM media cause the issue I am facing or would there be something else? As I write this I am downloading the SP2 slipstream media to test next.
Thanks,
Dan

Might be the RTM media, but you could try to just load the OS without the Dell DVD. The only thing you may need is the RAID driver during setup, but it may automatically detect your controller as well.

RTM didnt have all the correct storage files needed, once you go to SP1 or Sp2, you should be fine. Just in case you have a DRAC, disable virtual media until after the OS is installed.
