Unable to install OS Driver Pack in T 320

I am trying to reinstall all the drivers and an OS [Server 2012]  on a decommissioned T 320. I was able to use the delldownload site and create an .iso image. I booted to the image and installed and updated all the drivers and Bios.

But I am unable to install the OS driver pack. It errors out. Do I need the OS driver pack for the OS installation? If so how can I reinstall the OS driver pack?

Thanks.

You don't need another PERC, just another computer. The idea is to extract the contents of the payload folder from the download.

To help clarify (sorry if I'm repeating anything you know), here's the process I follow when I want to install an OS and not mess with an LCC.

1st step is going to be driver acquisition. With this being a T320, your PERC is probably an H310, an H710, or a software PERC. With that in mind, you'd grab a laptop/desktp, and go to the T320 page support page (https://dell.to/3fAMPl8). Change the Category section to "SAS RAID" and the Operating System section to the right version of Windows. Go ahead and download the driver, but you'll run this file on the same system you downloaded it on. Running it will provide you a set of files to put on a USB. Those files are what you need to provide to the Windows installer, it can't directly interact with the .exe.

Thanks. I am a home user, I do not have access to another PERC. But after I uploaded the .iso files from Dell download page [the newer ftp site], I checked the LCC, it said all the drivers were up to date except this missing OS driver pack.

Does this mean I can not boot to a windows installation DVD and I should be fine? If not can you provide me a link for the PERC drivers?

Thanks.

No, the OS driver pack isn't necessary. All you'll need to do is download the driver for your PERC from another system, and run the .exe on that system. This will give you a set of files you can put on a USB to provide to Windows during the installer. It would be the "Load driver" button on the "Where do you want to install Windows" screen.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. In the end, I did not have to use the USB driver as you had suggested, since I had already updates the RAID drivers using the .iso download from Dell download site.

I now have a functioning server.

Thanks.

David.
