VCD disappeared from the system!!?

I am getting the following events on a PE6850:

20060122193825.000000-360 The device 'DELL VCD' (IDE\CdRomDELL___VCD______________________________0133____\8&2dc68027&0&0.1.0) disappeared from the system without first being prepared for removal.

20060122193825.000000-360 The device 'Generic volume' (STORAGE\RemovableMedia\9&32b81484&0&RM) disappeared from the system without first being prepared for removal.

20060122193825.000000-360 The device 'DELL VSF' (IDE\DiskDELL___VSF______________________________0123____\8&2dc68027&0&0.0.0) disappeared from the system without first being prepared for removal.

Has anyone delt with this problem before?   It looks like something to do with the virtual CD-ROM.  Maybe I can disable it somehow?  Please help!

I have just experienced this problem on a PE2800, the virtual drives dissapeared at 5.10am and also since then BackupExec cannot see the utility partition either.

Any ideas?

Cheers

I just bought a PE2800 for a client and it has been up for about 6 weeks now.  Today it just rebooted by itself and when I examined the logs, I found the exact same thing as listed by creator of this thread.

"VCD disappeared from the system" and more...

The system had logged the exact same THREE entries in Event Viewer as mentioned earlier in this thread.

I hope Dell tech support has a resolution soon.
