Had the system up and running. However, after adding some features and roles related to remote desktop but the server restarted with a black screen saying no OS. Tried reinstalling Server 2019 but keep getting the "We couldn't find any drives" message.
After reading thru the forum, I've edited the RAID and even deleted the VHD. The iDrac, Lifecycle, and RAID configuration all work but even when I had disks showing as an option, there was the "Couldn't find any partitions" messages. I am stumped how to install the PERC software from the other forum posts, as I cannot see where in the process is there a place to do so..
There is no virtual disk created on the system. Can you reboot and ensure you have virtual disk created on the server
Windows not able to detect the storage due to driver missing. Windows 2019 is not a supported operating system for R420. So you will not be able to get drivers from dell support site. As you have previously installed windows 2019 on the same server I do not think it is a driver issue. Did you provided any additional drivers using USB key, When you install 2019 on this server before.
After fighting repeated experimental reboots without success all thru the night, I downloaded Server 2012 trial. Reset all the drives to RAID-5 and after installation from a bootable thumb drive...it successfully installed and restarted again successfully after downloading updates. Still functioning this afternoon.
