event log full message on t310 widows server std 2008 r2

We have set the log files to overwrite yet no matter what we do the led on the server itself displays a message that the event viewer is full and the server is barely functional and have to reboot.  we even tried changing the settings in registry as well to no avail.  This is for a CPA firm here at the march 15 Corporate deadline and they are having to reboot at least every morning and even later at times as well.  Thanks in advance for any help on this issue.  Burr

thanks Robert.  We have been doing just that in the Event Viewer in "clear" logs for each of those listed i.e. System, Security, Apps, etc...  For some reason the Dell Led still displays full and the Server is just at a crawl.  We know the logs are clear and have set to overwrite etc.. yet no luck.  Is there some other setting that we are missing as have never had this in some 250+ servers we have out there?  Thanks again for your help.  burr

The Dell LED/LCD is referring to the System Event Log, which is managed by the BMC/iDRAC and is NOT associated with the Windows Event Viewer. Be sure you are addressing the proper "logs". Clearing logs in the Event Viewer will NOT clear the LED/LCD panel alert of the SEL being full. You must also clear the SEL via OMSA or the iDRAC/BMC.

The SEL logs being full having nothing to do with your Server being slow or non responsive. Why not check those Open Manage logs to see if there is a specific error , like a dying hard drive that could be the source(or not) of your issues. If you don't have OMSA installed, install it and then deal with whatever hardware errors may be there.
