netware 5.1 sp6 error on powerde 4200

After upgrading our Poweredge 4200s from Netware 5.1 SP2A to 5.1 SP6, I get the following error on startup:

INFORMATIONAL:  Host adapter hardware error 414020A2

Is there a workaround for this?

Thanks,

Jamie

The error we believed to be a hardware error was in fact not an "error".  It did not result in a loss of data.  Apparently when the PERC controllers were upgraded to the latest BIOS revision Netware then displayed more information on the controller during boot up than it did before.

The first time you see it you might think something is not quite right.

We're moving to Windows this summer - have not had good luck with Client 32 and the applications we're using.

Your error sounds like a SCSI timeout error.  If you're running Arcserve run scanscsi or scsiscan (forget how its spelled).  If this utility does not see the tape drive you may have have a termination problem or a bad cable or a bad drive.

Thanks Jamie.  That is what I thought too.  I sent them the Adaptec doc on Arcserve Timeout.  They are using BackupExec 8.5.
Sorry to hear about the move to MS.
NetWare has been a great tool here, but I keep it patched and this remote site has never patched since I installed it over three years ago.
We supplement with Linux and a variety of MS.

Jamie:
Did you ever get an answer to this informational error?
Or did you upgrade to NW6.0?

I have a remote NW5.1SP3 server that just started getting this error:

Tape Alert:

CRITICAL: The tapedrive has a hardware fault.

4-29-2005 12:42:48pm ADPT160M.0_0 Host adapter hardware error

{414020A2}
