will server 2003 work with my server

I own a poweredge 1300

i'd like to know whether my server can install windows 2003. If not, which is the best server known to work best with my poweredge?

Also, which version of Microsoft Exchange should I use?
If i use windows 2000 server - is it possible for me to use exchange 2003, or does it have to be exchange 2000?

Hi,

The PowerEdge 1300 has been validated with the Windows Server 2003 Operating System with the addition of this System BIOS upgrade:

System BIOS, PowerEdge 1300  A12
FileName:  PE1300-BIOSA12.exe [457 KB]
Release Date:  4/29/2003
http://support.dell.com/FileLib/Format.aspx?ReleaseID=R57439

It is also recommended to upgrade the firmware on any raid controller also.

I do not have experience with Microsoft Exchange, I cannot advise which would be the best version to use with Win2003.

Yes, you can run ExchSrvr 2003 on Windows 2000 server, but I think there are some things to have in place first.  I can't find it at the moment, but I think there is even a white paper on it already.  Do some searching, but maybe this will help to start;  http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/evaluation/tiwinnet.asp
