wsus set up files..................???

Question

Hi all,

I m home user just trying to explore wsus features on server 2008 ent.

I have installed win server 2008 enterprise edition on my vmware, installed active directory services.

now trying to run the set up downloaded from microsoft website wsuse x86 set up file but it says "you need to install IIS servcies before installing this"

I have already added this IIS role to my server but it still says the same thing i have rebooted my server after installation but same message

I am able to run admin console but i am not able to run the entire installatiion getting the same message again and again

Please anyone can help me out with this

sounds like you might be missing a role feature. Most likely a .net runtime or similar. Hope that helps

i have seen wsus get cranky if iis is added/removed or if wsus itself is added/removed multiple times.
