for the more recent version https://support.emc.com/docu56488_PowerPath-Migration-Enabler-6.x-User-Guide.pdf?language=en_US
seems that you could use same guide as doesnt specify how to migrate in just one particular OS. PPME commands should be the same regardless of OS.
in the guide addresses how to perform in unix based environments and aix as well.

Thanks. It looks like it swaps the ID's so no need to extend vg.

just curious why PPME for AIX, it has one of the most robust native LVM managers.
