Solaris 10 x86 U5, QLE2462 and Powerpath 5.2

I am trying to install powerpath successfully on a Dell PE1950 (dual quad-core xeon's). It has a Qlogic QLE2462 dual port fibre adapter and I have installed Solaris 10 x86/64. from the operating system commands (eg. luxadm probe and cfgadm -al ) I can see the CX3-20 San , however, after i install powerpath (5.2) I can't see the hba's or paths with the powerpath commands. Whats worse is, if I reboot, the grub loader comes up, screen goes blank to start the kernel load and the system just hangs...off into never land....help... i have followed all the instructions, tried the qlogic drivers instead of the sun ones... hmmmm ..as I said help...

From looking at E-Lab it seems the Dell PE1950 is not a supported model of server. EMC only qualified Sun Servers for the release of Solaris10 x86 attached to CX3-20c.

Back to your issue; Before PowerPath is installed, can you see DGC devices from the output of 'format'?

ah the weather is wet as usual :)

What about initiator settings on the CLARiiON for your Sun HBA's, did you change the failover mode to 1 (or 4 for ALUA behaviour on a CLARiiON with FLARE26+)
Is Veritas VM installed? What version?
