PV 132T Autoloader on Windows XP Pro

We're having a problem getting out autoloader on our new PV132T to function properly on WinXP Pro using Tapeware 7.5. We're not using a server OS because it's just a simple file share for large video files on a 1.6TB RAID array. We have the latest firmware on the 132T and the latest drivers loaded, but in the device manager all we're seeing is the LTO-2 tape drive. The 132T is attached to an Adaptec AHA-2940 U2W Ultra2 SCSI controller. Tapeware 7.0 SP5c "sees" both the tape drive and autoloader, but the autoloader has an exclamation point denoting a problem that I cannot ascertain. We can complete manual backups just perfectly (the unit FLIES), but it will not autoload.

Please help.

It may be a XP compatability issue. Try installing a W2K partition and see if it is then

recognised.

Actually, we were able to solve the problem. The PV 132T was in "Sequential" mode. As soon as we set it to "Random" in the Setup Wizard it worked perfectly. Unless in "Random" mode the Media Changer is not seen seperately by the SCSI controller.

A silly little problem, but maybe it will help someone else in the future. It seems to work fine with WinXP SP2 and now the media changer is both recognized and functions properly.
