Do you know what scsi card you will be using to connect the tape drive to? The DDS3 drive has a 50 pin straight connector. The newer scsi controllers have a "D" style 68 pin connection. Depending on which controller you will be using you may need a 68 to 50 pin cable adapter.
You may want to check the Veritas website to see if the DDS3 drive is still listed as a supported device for their software.
