Adaptec 39160 cannot do predictive failure on hard drive? Please help...

I have Dell PE2600 with external Adaptec 39160 to connect to PV210S. If I remember correctly, this device is able to report hard disk predictive failure report during the bootup.

Now, I have (3) 36GB SCSI drives that are dead SMART fail or whatever it's called. However, it won't show predictive failure anymore. I have moved these drives with LSI controller and it shows report that the drive is about to fail, etc (predictive failure report).

So, my question now: What did I do wrong? Is there anyway to enable it?

Lsilogic adapters will often find faults or predict imminent failure which a standard scsi adapter will not. Often I have had drives fail in an array (multiple times) which will pass multiple test runs on a standard scsi adapter, and will give years of reliable service on a standard scsi adapter. I would say there is nothing wrong with the scsi adapter not finding any error or predicting them, raid adapters are just more sensitive to slight disk flaws. If the drives have predicted failures on the raid adapter I would not trust it for array use.
