Hello CSSI-FR,
The NX300 is built using the PER410 platform. If you use your own licensed media it should work, however the NX300 was not tested to run with windows 2016, so not sure if you will have any issue with 2016.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hello DELL-Sam L,
Thank you so much for your helpful response.
Already I have my own media licensed of WS 2012 r2 and 2016, and prefer use the 2016 of course.
As per you I do not have to change in the bios version or do any upgrade ?
because I heard about a procedure of Rebranding of Dell PV to PE, is this recommended ?

Hello CSSI-FR,
Since you are wanting to use your NX300 as a PER410 server you will need to flash the bios with the PER410 bios. After the bios is showing as PER410 then you can load windows on the server. If there are any issues with the install of windows 2016, then Dell can test the hardware to make sure it works.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Greetings,
We have a NX3000 with MD1K and MD3K. Since we have migrated all storage service to Compellent and we would like to reuse NX3000 as a R710 server. If we only want to install Windows 2012 R2 (we have media and license) on NX3000, do we need to flash the bios with the PER410 bios? If we do, how to do it?
Thanks,
Xin

Hello xinwangnyc,
If you are looking to make your NX3000 an R710 server, then you are correct that you will need to flash the NX3000 bios with R710 bios. Here is a link to the R710 bios. https://dell.to/2T9uWAG
