MD3200i Systems Monitoring with Splunk
HI,
I have an MD3200i and I am trying to find a way to pull metrics off of it. Ideally I would be importing the information into splunk so I am looking for a free client that can read the SMI-S data off of the SAN and forward it to a log file to be digested and indexed by Splunk.
How do other people monitor their SAN without going to something as expensive as SolarWinds?

Thanks for the info, but that is definitely not on the budget radar either. Does anyone know of anything opensource that is mature enough to use without doing the development work on it?

It's not really a single tool as such, but you may want to check out this article as it shows how to pull performance logs and how you can then use them in Excel (or probably any spreadsheet or number analysis application):
