ML6000 problem w/ loading tapes to tape drives
Hi,the model of our Tape Library is ML6000. I have a problem loading my tapes (LTO Ultrium 3) to my Tape drive model Ultrium TD3. It says about something about errors T021-Library lost communication w/ sled, T019 cannot calibrate motion OK,T049 Taoe alert 30-Harware A and T062-Module configuration Problem.
I restarted already the tape Library a couple of times and still not working. And I already configured my partitions etc and when i tried to manually load the drives for testing, the library wont let me click the drives where I want to put the tapes. It says also before that the tape is not compatible w/ tape drives but the way I see it into the specification it is compatible. Is there something missing with my configurations? By the
way the tapes are new and not yet formatted.
Need some assistance pls. Thanks:mansad:

Have you followed the troubleshooting steps outlined in the RAS tickets.
Check there's no packing left inside the library, sometime the small hook from the velco transit strap drops inside and can affect picker movement.
Make sure the terminators are fitted to the back of the library. Reseat the tape module(s).
and call support

Yes, I followed the RAS tickets and still no luck. The two errors appearing is 1) one of the tape drive LTO Ultrium-TD3 is in orange/yellow light 2) our tape is not loading (Ultrium LTO 3) to the tape drive w/ error saying Media type os not compatible to destination drive. I already check the back and all if its screws if properly tighten.
I just want to confirm how fix the error in the tape drive (orange light) and to know if our tape DELL LTO UTRIUM 3 is compatible to IBM LTO ULTRIUM-TD3 in our ML6000 tape Library.
Thank you

Any LTO3 tape will work in an LTO3 tape drive but branded tapes are always recommended. Dell tapes are ok.
It sounds like your drive has developed errors, Phone support and do a bit of trouble shooting with them and they'll probably get it swapped out.
