PowerEdge 2850 + QLogic QLA200 + AX100 = No Fibre devices found!
Short Version:
See subject line
Details:
All items are right out of the box.
QLogic QLA Bios = 1.05
At BIOS time the QLogic board gives me the error "No Fibre devices found!".
I've configured the QLA200 to enable it's BIOS at boot time. When this is done, the link light appears on both the HBA of the PE 2850 and the FC0 interface on the AX100. If this setting is disabled, the link light never appears.
Optically/Electrically there is a connection between the HBA in the PE 2850 and the HBA in the AX100. Unfortunately, the BIOS message continues to give the not found error.
I've attached the supplied serial cable between the solitary serial port on the AX100 and the serial port of a nearby PC. I run a termina program and when I restart the AX100 I see the diagnostic/boot messages it produces. However, no obvious key combination within the terminal window gives me any kind of configuration control
Is there something obvious I'm missing?

If not, I suggest you start the steps to do this as they are explained on the poster that comes in the box of the AX100.
Also, go back into the Qlogic HBA bios and disable the bios. This option is only needed if you want to boot to the SAN, which is possible, but I would highly recommend against it.
Setting up a SAN is very much unlike setting up a PV220S or server.
