PowerVault 132T "DEFINE PATH" fails using TSM 5.3
Hi,
We are installing a new powervault 132T (LTO2 drive) on a TSM 5.3.1.2 server running on windows 2003. We get a "ANR8972E DEFINE PATH: Unable to find the element number..." when defining the paths to the tape drive..
looks like there has been similar problems with other powervault models. For example see:
http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1IC45285
Looks like something to do with drive serial numbers. This seems to be the case here the TSM discovery tool does not see the drive s/n. Could anyone tell me if it looks like there could be these same issues on this model libraray?
We're running the very latest firmware for lib+drives, and have tried previous levels with no avail.
It seems the ADIC verisions of the same libray are running at a much higher firmware level than the dell (227D), and this higher version seems to be verified by TSM. The DELL firmware version verified by TSM is a very old 103D running LTO1 drives?
TSM info about the library:
http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=663&uid=swg21177112
regards,
Jesper
