Pull SNMP data from PowerVault DR4100?

Is it possible to pull SNMP data from a PowerVault DR4100?
The Administrators Guide mentions port tcp/199 that is used by "SNMP daemon". However I have tried connecting to it and it gives no data.

Port tcp/1311 is also mentioned as Hardware Health Monitor. This doesn't give any response, either.

Is it not possible to monitor the DR4100?

Hello Tomhkr,

To Monitor your DR4100 as long as you have configured your IDRAC you can use that to monitor the system. If you haven’t setup your IDRAC yet here is a link that will walk you through the configuration of your IDRAC.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Just to be clear - you are saying it's not possible to pull snmp info from the DR4100 we can only setup snmp traps or alerts thru the IDRAC ?

I never managed to set up monitoring on my DR4100.

Our ILO/IDRAC network is totally separated from other traffic and not even accessable for our monitoring software, thus it is not possible to access it.

The unit still sends e-mail if something is wrong but no active automated monitoring is going on.

I really wish the units own software would have SNMP capability.
