RD1000, Using Windows SBS 2011 Backup and Symantec Backup Exec 2010...
I just purchased a new Dell Server with an internal RD1000 drive.
I would like to use built in Microsoft Windows SBS 2011 backup to backup to the server daily for a full system backup.
I would also like to use Backup Exec 2010 to backup and restore individual files and remote computers.
Can I use both to backup to one cartridge, assuming I have room. I purchased 1TB cartriges.
Has anyone attempted this setup? Any issues?

Hello jzwyer,
With the setup that you are trying it will not work. The reason is that each backup software has it’s own type of file type. If you were to do it with both Microsoft and backup exec one of your jobs would most likely fail or it would ask to format the cartage before it can start the backup. What you can do is that since you have backup exec 2010 that you can purchase additional remote agent license & then you can backup the server and your other remote servers as well.
