i launch for exemple an inventory of any tape, the TL2000 goes offline, when i change it online and relaunch the job, he goes offline again.
and now the job is running, the tape in use, but nothing has changed since 24 hours.

Hello guiga hafedh,

Which driver is listed under your tape drive? Also what is the current version of firmware from both the library & the tape drive? Also did you recently apply any new updates to BUE?

It sounds like your driver for the tape drive has been changed or there is an issue with the HBA that is connecting your TL2000 to your server. If you look into system event viewer are you seeing any SCSI errors that are pointing to your HBA?

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hello and thanks for your reply,

this is the version of firmware for Library and Tape:

Backup Exec error: ID 34 338

Backup Exec Caterrorhandler server: ID 34 327

When i go to the event viewer, i have multiple for these two errors:

It's not an error with the version installed ? i can't see the tape in device manager,

how can i found the correct driver if it's the problem ?

Best regards

Guiga

you could try running the tape installer in backup exec but choose to delete all drivers, reboot then run it again and choose install drivers, it may sort itself out.

The screenshot looks odd, the picture that you say is a working TL2000 shows 14 HH LTO5's tapes drives but one doesn't have the same driver and no tape libraries is that correct?

And the one you say is having issues shows 6 Libraries and 6 tape drives.

Hello,

So for the TL2000 with 14 tapes drives (The working one) has 2 reader inside the TL2000,

the other one (actually with problem) have just one reader.

I will investigate with BE errors and come back to you.

Thanks a lot for your assistance.

Best regards,

Guiga
