Tape Drive Error LED lit when tape is inserted

I have an older external Dell LTO 2 Tape drive. I'm not sure of the exact model but in Device Manager it shows Certance Ultrium 2.  

The drive has no errors/issues but as soon as I put a tape in the Red Error LED lights up. I've tried a few tapes different tapes and the same thing happens. I've tried running a cleaning on it but that hasn't helped either. Also there isn't an LCD Readout on the front of the drive only Status LEDs.

Anyone have any clue as to what this is?

I've been digging around for the manual but because I don't know the exact model it's hard to narrow down.
