Tape drive not found with windows native backup utility
Hi,
Im trying to use a Seagate tape drive with my Windows 2003 server, with the backup utility that comes with windows.
However, despite the drive being listed in Device Manager, the drive is not listed when I go to configure backup through windows.
Does anyone perhaps have an idea what could be causing this problem?

What driver is loaded for the tape drive?
Do you see the drive listed under the Removable Storage / Physical locations section of the Computer Management console?
Be sure the Removable Storage service is started. The service will be listed in the Services and Applications / Services window of the Computer Management console.
