UPGRADING MD3000 TO A MD3000i
Is it possible to install a iscsi raid controller on a MD3000? This controller is the same wich equipe the MD3000i?

Dell does not support converting an MD3000 to an MD3000i or vice versa...

They charge a lot for the controller anyways. I'll bet for close tot he same cach you could buy a single controller MD3000i populated with drives. Beat your rep up. Md3000i's are going end of life this year I am told, I'll bet they are goign to close out inventory really cheap.
Hang out on the outlet store too. I just picked up one with 15 one tb sas drives for $4K-ish.
