ntldr missing when installing powervault 122T

Question

I am having bigtime problems when trying to install a PowerVault 122T on a PowerEdge 2300 running Windows Server 2003.  whenever I connect the drive to the SCSI card, the server will not boot giving me the error message ntldr is missing.  The PowerVault is on SCSI ID 6 and I noticed that when the system tries to boot, (the ctrl M part) it will sit there on ID 6 for a minute or so.  When I remove the tape drive, it will count right up to 15 with no problem.  Basically, the system will boot when the PowerVault is not attached.  Is this just a configuration issue?  Is the server looking to boot to the tape drive instead if the hard drives?  Thanks for any assistance in advance.

Are you terminating the scsi bus (ie. is there a terminator on the open plug on the PV122T)?

Also, the PV122T should be connected to an Adaptec 39160 PCI card, not an onboard controller, especially one that's being used for any scsi drives.

Yes the device is terminated.  I figured out what the issue was and it was a major goof on my part but now I know.  I had plugged in the backup device into a RAID controller.  Most of our servers don't have that card on the back but this one did.  Anyway, I moved the SCSI card to that server and it works now.
