tl2000 barcode length issues

Observation

According the the manual for the tl2000...

"Code for this library supports an 8 or more character VOLSER (volume serial number) on the barcode on the tape cartridge. This library does not support a 6 character VOLSER."

...but in the latest firmware (4.50) for the tl200 there is an option "Barcode Label Length Reported To Host" with a drop down for 6 || 8 characters.

Example...
8 Char: 000603L1 or 000603L2 or 000603L3
6 Char: 000603

Issue

We have always used barcodes of length 6 for all jukeboxes so this is an obvious issue with 8 characters. After changing the length to 6 characters, I do see the length reported to NetWorker of 6 characters but I get a "null" label read when actually loading the tapes.

Question

So, this may be a software issue since I'm now seeing 6 characters but... is this option to reduce the character length actually supported? Is anyone else able to use this jukebox with 6 character length barcodes?

Thanks in advance.

I have answered my own question. After reconfiguring the jukebox within the backup software I am able to read 6 character barcodes without any issues.

Apparently this limitation within the jukebox has been fixed in this latest firmware release.

Backup software: NetWorker 7.2.Build.494
Jukebox firmware: 4.5.0
