CPU upgrade for Dell precision T5600?
Can anyone here advise me what the highest spec processors that my Precision T5600 can handle?
I have a dual core system running 2 x E% 2609 @ 2,4ghz I am hoping That I can get something better and less dated now?
Any advice much appreciated.

Precision T5600 Owner's Manual.pdf
It can take 4, 6, & 8 core Intel Xeon processors. Please see pg. 55 of the manual for caches.

Try E5-2687w. It runs at 3.1GHz which is the highest one among the 8-core members of 26XX v1 family. I've got 2 running on my T5600 and everything's fine.
