Trying to add a 2nd sata drive to t3600--help !
Hi,
I have added a 2nd sata and plugged cable into a few of the mobo ports but it still doe not show in Win 10 x 64
I see it in bios under SAS but it doesn't show in Win.
How can I add it correctly please.
Sata 0 DVD
Sata 1 1TB
Sas 3 2nd drive.
Not sure about Sas.
It is set to AHCI in Bios and I do not want any RAID.
What do I need to have set uo in Bios?
Thanks

Though this isn't Amazon Australia, something you might get better use out of: https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Power-Splitter-Adapter-PYO4SATA/dp/B0086OGN9E/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?crid=3ID5DM39VRDN&keywords=sata+power+rail&qid=1655072251&sprefix=sata+power+rail%2Caps%2C148&sr=8-8
I wish I would've thought of it a ways back when looking at splitters.

Yah, I know you mentioned your PSU is 635w. But what GPU card is in the T3600?

Yes I was going to open another thread but figured this was virtually ending the same topic.
So far I have one 1TB SSD for my Win drive and it is so much faster. I will get another when I can as well.
I also have a 4TB inside and now want to add another x 2TB I have from the T7500.
My PSU is 635W.
Thanks
ADDED: Yes I looked at those and might even go with them. I have used Startech hardware before and they have all been reliable for me. Thanks for the tip.

All of those are no problem for a 635w PSU.
Hi @speedstep - In the XPS forum, you recommended a good, apparently all around, 50w GPU card in which you tagged me so I'd see the post. What card is it? I was going to save a reference to it and forgot to pin it.

Hello @ozstar , the current power supply in your system is very sufficient for adding several more drives. The T3600 is very similar to a T5810 and Dell already provided 2 power sources for the 5.25 bay, a slimline and a 15pin.

@ozstar - I just saw your other thread asking about a GPU change for the T3600. I'm with @Chino de Oro, the Quadro K2200 is a good bet.

@bradthetechnut
Dawid Does Tech Stuff says its the best card in 400 years. I would buy one soon because GPU's at a good price go very fast.

In case someone in the future has a similar problem, here are the specs for the Storage Controller Driver that worked for me in the T3600 and maybe the trial of Driver Easy will work to get it installed if you couldn't find it anywhere else.
Intel version 4.3.0.1198 C600 Chipset SAS RAID (SATA) 21/5/2015
The AHCI one is
Intel version 13.1.0.1058 2/5/2014
Good luck !
