Dell Precision m 4700 Gpu not detected
Hello every one!
my first discussion in dell community!
i have a Dell Precision m 4700 for some time and it worked flawlessly till last week.
system specs:
cpu: corei 5-3340m @2.70GHz
Ram: 8 gig DDR3
Gpu : intel hd 4000 and Nvidia Quadro k2000m(2Gb)
last week i suddenly understood that my Nvidia k2000m not detected and does not exist in device manager( i don't really know when it has started)
i have checked and didn't see my gpu in bios system information
i have updated my bios to A19 and checked for loose connection but no luck
i have reinstalled my windows 10 without any results
i also have checked my hardware with 3rd party softwares but none showed my gpu
i tried installing new drivers but it said Nvidia setup couldn't find any Nvidia Gpu on my pc
any help would be appreciated.
thanks in advance!

Run the Dell diagnostics to check all the hardware. The gpu probably failed. Use the integrated video until you can buy a new laptop. It might be hard finding a replacement card for a 7 yr old laptop. But if you want to try-- the service manual is here.

I have figured out that before this happened i used the harddisk of this laptop on another old dell laptop to boot and test the hardware
so i thought maybe because of uncompatible drivers on that device this happened
could this be the case?

My m4800 is doing the same thing - was already thinking of upgrading video so went to eBay and ordered an m1200 4GB card. Hoping to receive and install by Christmas

So the new one works but.....only after rolling back Windows November Update. Then I reinstalled the Intel drivers. To be honest, I think the k2100m was fine. Still trying to get this new config working with Directx

I have the same problem on my M4700. nobody helps...when I figure this out, I swear I will never ever buy Dell laptops...the BitLocker also erased everything from my hard disk...

Also happened to me on my M4700 Extreme version. Looks like Windows 10 update caused it, since there was no problem on Win7 Pro. Not a hardware fault imo.
