1700 printing web pages too lightly

I recently purchased a new computer and have switched from XP to a Windows 7 operating system and ever since I have done so, when I print certain things off a website (maps, pictures, literature), it prints too lightly to read?  The header and footer will print normally and anything on that page that is black will print normally, but any colors or different shades of gray hardly prints at all?  I've uninstalled the printer and reinstalled a few times, downloaded new drivers...and I still get the same thing.  Is there something in the settings thats wrong?  Any help would be appreciated.
